MICRO-EPIDIDYMAL SPERM ASPIRATION (M.E.S.A.) / TESTICULAR SPERM ASPIRATION (T.E.S.A.) / PERCUTANEOUS EPIDIDYMAL SPERM ASPIRATION (P.E.S.A.)
For male patients who have no sperm in their ejaculated semen, sperm may be obtained by direct aspiration of the epidermis or testes through a small day-care procedure. Extra sperm can be frozen for subsequent use. One MESA or TESA can provide enough sperm for 4 to 6 separate attemtps of ICSI.
